The suspended step of the stork

2001

The propeller forms rotate counterclockwise very slowly, 3 turns per minute. It is deliberate motion and has floating impression. The elaborate model train that the doll's having gotten on the inside runs toward the clockwise, reverse of propellers rotation. The toy-train has an interval between carriage and locomotive per rotation. The motion is interesting. This work is suspended and it does not float, nor touching on the ground. And it always keeps rotating. Japanese identity is like this wandering image. It is our position. This work, the hidden meaning against pleasing externals like a toy, represents what kind of situation Japan is.
